It was raining all day so we stayed home. I was reading a good book, one that I didn’t want to end. Usually, I parcel out the pages, but this time I treated myself to reading as much as I wanted, not even hunger moving me downstairs.
As the wind blew through the room, whipping the curtains and slamming doors, and raindrops spattered the table in front of the window, I devoured page after page, until I felt heavy-lidded and dull.
Here are some of the books I read: The Magician’s Assistant and The Patron Saint of Liars, both by Ann Patchett
