August 6, Saturday
The HOF parade is a tradition around here. I marched in three parades when I was in the swing band in high school, but this is the first time I watched from the sidelines. We woke up way too early and waited on the porch for our ride. We watched the bands go by and the enshrinees and Kim’s daughter who plays the drums in her high school’s marching band. We decided to leave after we saw her – she was near the end of the parade – and we were gathering our things to leave when a lone bagpiper walked by. He was the same one who played at the funereal of Kim’s mom and we all stopped to watch him go by.
