We love birthdays around here. They start seven days before your actual birthday and we celebrate all week. It’s a way to spend one-on-one time with each of the girls and make them feel special. This week, per the request of my younger, we had lunch at Smitty’s, ate sundaes at Fair Oaks Pharmacy, and sojourned to Old Town and ate bbq wings and picked up a treat at Got Sugar (I’m sensing a theme here – like her mom, she has a sweet tooth). We also pulled out the sofa bed and slept in the living room one night.
She received her first present bright and early on her birthday when she woke up so she could play with it all day. There was one toy she really wanted and she asked me all week if I got it for her. I always put on a sad face and tell her, “I was busy all week and didn’t have time to go to the store,” and “Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get exactly what you want.” She falls for it every year.
