This was one of my first fall sessions; it’s cool enough to enjoy the outdoors and the light gets a bit softer. I’ve decided that July, August and September are pretty much shot in terms of shooting because of the heat and vacations and school starting. It’s really only suitable for a day at the beach.
I’m always nervous when I walk in and meet a new family. I am an observer and am more comfortable in the background. As soon as I’m behind the camera, I can relax and get to work.
What I love most about being behind the camera is that I can unabashedly study people. I see how fierce a little girl can be, and how heartbreakingly sweet a snaggletooth smile is, and how Mom’s natural beauty is accentuated when she’s relaxed and laughing.
(Dad was around, but didn’t want any photographs posted.)
