My kids love any kind of scavenger hunt. I have to hide Advent presents, Easter eggs, birthday gifts. It’s not enough to just slap a bow on the present and hand it to them. They like the thrill of the hunt.
So, this year, I made them work for it. They had to take a math quiz, figure out Latin root words, and do a word jumble. To say they were not happy is an understatement. And like the yin and yang that they are, one wailed about the unfairness of it all while the other one got down to work. In the end they solved the puzzles and claimed their prize.
